Items

Items are the things you bought or track — a name, quantity, unit price, and optional tags. An item can be linked to a purchase, a location, scenes, and one or more projects — but a purchase is not required. You can create a standalone item from the project's Items tab and attach a purchase later.

Shared org inventory lives in the Items Library — categories, CSV import, and library workflows are covered there.

Items on a purchase

When you log a purchase (manually or via Receipt OCR), line items often come from the receipt or from Add line items on the form. Those items belong to that purchase and inherit project context from it. Full purchase flow: Logging Purchases.

Standalone items

From Items → + Add Item, you can create an item with No purchase associated. In that case the item must be scoped to the project you're working in. From the item detail page you can later link or unlink a purchase, set a location, and manage tags.

Tags

Tags help filter Items lists (by department, category, or whatever fits your workflow). Edit tags on the item's detail page — not from the list view — so browsing stays quick and safe.

Who can manage items

Creating and editing items requires an Editor-level (or higher) capability on the project. Viewers can see items they have access to but cannot create or edit them. See Roles & Permissions.
